Position Title: Inventory Control Specialist
Salary Range: $29,000 - $38,000
Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting the Procurement Officer in purchases for consumable and fixed asset inventory for maintenance and repairs. The second major responsibility is for the inventory security of supplies, materials, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assures quantity and quality of materials received prior to issuing approval of invoices for payment.
- Maintains storeroom/warehouse in a clean and safe manner.
- Secures telephone price quotations, and adheres to the current procurement policies to assure equitable and competitive purchasing practices are maintained.
- Responsible for inventory of consumable supplies, fixed assets and maintains issuance records.
- Maintains purchasing policy of "best price" and "best value".
- Answers calls and responds to resident requests for assistance, work orders, or information in an appropriate manner.
- Prepares correspondence and memos appropriate to the work requirements.
- Maintains spreadsheets and purchasing records as assigned.
- Prepares reports via computer system as needed and/or assigned.
- Submits invoices for payment subsequent to verifying receipt of material, pricing, etc.
- Prepares annual inventory for auditing.
- Prepares quarterly inventory on consumables and fixed assets.
- Issues inventory to mechanics, painters, and other approved PHA personnel.
- Orders inventory as needed to predetermined levels for the Agencies Maintenance Department.
- Assist the Maintenance Operation Specialist as needed and approved by Supervisor.
- All other duties as may be assigned to assist the Agency.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Hold a valid driver's license. Be capable of operating office equipment such as calculators, copy machines, faxes, and computers. Establish and maintain excellent working communication with residents, staff, vendors, contractors, and the public. Have the ability to work with little supervision and in an independent manner. Consistently uses sound judgment in buying practices and the prioritization of work orders (i.e. emergency vs. non-emergency).
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or equivalent with two (2) years experience. One-year experience in inventory management. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined acceptable by the Executive Director.
